Supporting Year-Round Food and Water Availability while Diversifying Farm Income and Building Climate Resilience The Integrated Rice-Field Pond System (IRFPS) is a low-input integrated farming system that improves existing ricefield ponds to address interconnected food, livelihood and climate-resilience challenges in rice-farming communities. By combining improved water and fish habitat management with diversified rice, fish, vegetable and livestock production, IRFPS provides an adaptable approach for strengthening food production, livelihoods and ecological resilience using existing farm resources. Documented implementation increased rice yields by 57% and fish yields by 67%.
