The Solar Irrigation Solution with Flexible Payment and Services addresses the high upfront cost of solar irrigation, limited access to suitable financing, and inadequate sales and after-sales services. By combining solar-powered irrigation pumps with flexible payment options, PAYGO and PAYOWN financing, and sales and after-sales services, the solution helps smallholder farmers access solar irrigation without bearing the full equipment cost upfront. The solution has been scaled across Ghana, Mali, Ethiopia, and Zambia since 2020, providing access to irrigation equipment, flexible payment arrangements, technical support, spare parts, and repairs.
